FiSEC developed a fire safety strategy for this building which provides both teaching and residential accommodation in a single block.
Building Regulations consent for the scheme was subject to a determination from the Department of the Environment having been refused by the Local Authority despite protracted discussions.
The building has a single central stairway which is pressurised utilising the air handling system that provides environmental control within the building
