Holborn Place

Multi-storey Office and Retail Development
Architect - Foster and Partners
Client - Gemini Commercial Investments Ltd.

The development on the site of the old Daily Mirror building will utilise the existing basement for plant office facilities and car parking. Above ground new accommodation will be constructed comprising eight floors of office accommodation above a limited area of retail accommodation.

The building includes three arium areas with the principle one associated with the main entrance. Two additional atria extending from level four to the roof are provided with glazed floors.

FiSEC have worked to ensure that the design is accepted as meeting the requirements of the Building Regulations and the Section 20 criteria of the London Building Act.

The design utilises sprinklers, a fire detection and 'verbal warning' alarm system, phased evacuation and an active smoke control system.
